Remember those old-fashioned aluminium windows of the 1970s? You had a choice of silver, white, black or brown frames set into a timber sub-frame.
Thankfully, aluminium windows design has come a long way in the last 40 years. Not only are windows now warmer and more secure, but the number of finishes has increased dramatically to include hundreds of colours. You can even have a different colour inside and out.
A really popular option is a Coatex finish; it’s lightly textured and has a contemporary, metallic look. What’s more, the Coatex treatment means the aluminium frame requires little maintenance and it is more scratch resistant than traditional lacquers.
